I. D. CARD STORIES – GOOD GRIEF.

 

“Excuse me, Mrs… Miss…. Sorry to disturb you at a time of grief. If you could just leave the flowers for a moment, I need to check your I. D. Card.

            Yes, yes, I know this is a bad time, but we have to do this. There has been some vandalism in the cemetery of late, and  we have to check everybody.

            Your card 7692228548771104  checks out Mrs. Dawson. Thank you. I see  you are visiting the grave of Mr. Dawson 8868048904338088.  That’s his number  on the grave isn’t it? 

            Ah, I see you are busy .. I’ll leave you to it. Ah, look, a funeral is just coming in. I’ll go and check the Identities of each of the mourners,  and the vicar over there. That’ll leave you in peace with your dearly beloved.  My deepest condolences….
